Interior Photography Assistant (Freelance)

About the Role
I’m looking for a freelance Interior Photography Assistant to join me on shoot days across Sydney - from the Northern Beaches to the South Coast (and occasionally beyond). This is a hands-on role, perfect for someone with an interest in interiors, photography, or styling who enjoys working in a fast-paced, creative environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Assisting with photography equipment set-up, pack down, and handling on site

• Supporting with lighting adjustments, tethering, and general shoot logistics

• Occasionally helping with styling tasks (e.g. moving furniture, arranging props, steaming linens, making sure everything looks polished through the lens)

• Capturing light BTS (behind the scenes) content for socials (short clips/photos on phone)

• Keeping the shoot running smoothly with an extra set of eyes and hands

About You

• Interest in interiors, photography, design, or styling

• Organised, reliable, and proactive - you’re someone who spots what needs doing and jumps in

• Comfortable lifting, moving, and handling furniture/props on set

• Confident with a phone camera and keen eye for casual BTS content

• Must have a valid driver’s license and own transport

• Works well in a small team environment and is happy to take direction

• Previous experience in photography, styling, or assisting is a bonus, but not essential

Details

• Freelance, paid per shoot

• Shoots are generally weekdays, 4-8 hours depending on project

• Based in Sydney (ability to travel for shoots is a plus)

• Growth opportunities: For the right person, this role may evolve to include more styling and creative input over time
